Artist Lolita Dickinson


Lolita Dickinson is a native of South Alabama and currently resides on beautiful Mobile Bay in Mobile, Alabama.

Lolita works in various mediums and produces both realistic and semi-abstract works of art.  Subject matter includes:

  • Local life and subjects of the Gulf Coast and the Delta Region,
    • Bay scenes
    • Logging roads
    • Wildlife
    • Mardi Gras
    • Local historical architecture
    • Still Life subjects
  • Scenes influnced from her travels in the US and abroad
    • Europe
    • Americas
    • Africa
  • Semi-abstract works include:
    • Fantasy scenes and figures
    • Cublist style to intrepret subject matter

Using a very diverse pallet to create her paintings and drawings, she paints in oils, acrylics, pastels, pencils and watercolors.   Her landscapes, water scenes, and abstract works often are filled with light reminiscent of the atmospheric paintings of her favorite English Painter, J.M.W. Turner.

Lolita is an award winning artist and holds a BS degree in Organization Management from the University of Mobile where she graduated with honors.  After a successful business career with an international corporation, she retired in 2001 to devote full time to her art.

Over the years, she has studied art with a number of nationally recognized artists and attended art classes in local art groups and universities.   Her work is displayed in museums and private collections world wide.  She also teaches art classes in the Mobile area.
